BEAVER'S CENTRE

As the name itself reveals the main content of our centre is beaver that has re-inhabited the area after improved state of the river Sotla. In the stream of Sotla and in its confluences we can encounter the characteristic consequences of beavers' endeavour to build beaver lodges. The crabs, fish and otters keep company to beavers; they are presented in the centre as well. For the variety you can meet more animal species characteristic for the wetlands.

A model of the surroundings represents the Posotelje area and its geographical features (relief, river network, land use, floods, Natura 2000 area). A comparison of the natural riverbed with its abundance in life on one hand and a canalised man-made riverbed on the other clearly shows the difference between them.
